My days of going to the west side of Jim Thorpe are coming to an end. The few times I do venture to the other side, I always park by the station and use the meters. A simple thing, park, put a few quarters in and you’re good to go. I refuse to do battle with the kiosks. I still think it’s a Russian word that means “STUPID.”
Anyhow, tourism promotes the town as being a quaint, step back in time sort of place. How old simple and quaint is a parking meter? Why must we have the modernization of the kiosks? They think it will solve the traffic problem? I think not!
What about the poor bastards who live in quaint old Jim Thorpe. I’ve even run into people from New York, who say they are a pain in the back side!
All the fancy modern crap does is make it harder for those who live here and put people out of work!
