September 26, 1969 — Jim Thorpe uses a long scoring drive to take the lead and its defense keeps Pleasant Valley out of the end zone to gain a 16-0 victory. The Olympians, coached by Angie Konstas, march 99 yards on its opening possession with Walt Schlenner tossing a 10-yard touchdown pass to Pete Susko. Schlenner, who also intercepts a pass in the game, adds an insurance tally in the third frame when bulls into the end zone from one yard out.
