For the third year, Blue Mountain Resort has joined forces with the Carbon Chamber & Economic Development Corporation for an Oktoberfest.
The event will run from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and each day will take place outside in the tubing lanes located in the valley at the resort.
This year, all proceeds of the festival will benefit the revitalization of Carbon County through the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development group.
While the festival is free and open to anyone of all ages, there will be several activities available for purchase, including:
• Scenic lift rides: Take in the spectacular views of fall foliage in the Pocono Mountains riding the lifts at the resort. Guests can ride the lift as many times as they wish, taking in the spectacular views. It’s a unique way to capture the fall foliage.
• Stein hoisting, keg rolling, mechanical bull riding and wine sampling.
• Bavarian-style treats to munch on throughout the event and beer garden.
• Pick your own pumpkin and painting: Design and create a unique pumpkin to put on display throughout the fall.
• Free tractor rides for kids, bracelet making, coloring contest and face painting.
In addition to these activities, guests may also enjoy craft and artisan vendors, a variety of live entertainment provided by local bands, authentic German dancing and polka music, and the official keg tapping with state Rep. Doyle Heffley at 11 a.m. Saturday.
