Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Hirochek Sr. of Nesquehoning celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 20.

Mrs. Hirochek is the former Maureen Williams, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Williams of Jim Thorpe. She is retired from the LVHC Burn Center.

Mr. Hirochek is the son of the late Michael and Myrtle Hirochek of Lehighton. He is retired from New Jersey Zinc and is a crossing guard in Nesquehoning.

The couple was married in Immaculate Conception Church, Jim Thorpe, by the Rev. Leo Kilpatrick. They have two sons, Stephen and his wife April of Nesquehoning and Lewis Jr. and his wife Janet of Pennsburg; and a daughter, Melissa and her husband Allan Hascher of Nesquehoning; as well as four grandsons, Tyler Milot, Jeremy Hirochek, Dylan Hascher and Brody Hirochek; and one granddaughter, Taylor Hirochek.

To celebrate the occasion, the couple is planning a trip to Florida in October.
