Combined concert
The Palmerton Band and Lehighton Band will hold a combined concert at 2 p.m. on Sunday in the Palmerton Borough Park. Bring a lawn chair.
Wing night
The Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Company, 259 Lime St., Bowmanstown will have wing night from 6-9 p.m. Sept. 26.
Pistol match
The sixth annual Pistol Match will be held at the Palmerton Rod & Gun Club, 225 Club Road, Palmerton from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. This event is hosted by Central Bucks Detachment, Marine Corps League.
Karaoke night
Karaoke night will be held at the Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Company, 259 Lime St., Bowmanstown beginning at 9 p.m. Saturday.
Support group
A Grief and Loss Support Group will meet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 26 at Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville. Directed by a professional counselor, this group is for people experiencing grief due to trauma, loss or death. It is an effort to assist people in the surrounding community to heal and find peace.
Jerusalem UCC
Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville has returned to two services. The 9 a.m. service is a contemporary service and the 10:30 a.m. service is a traditional service with communion the first Sunday of the month. Looking ahead, the Apple and Fall Festival will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 5. There will be a Chinese auction and meat raffle and of course yummy food. Donations for the Chinese auction are appreciated.
Thank you to all our volunteers who made the stand at the Palmerton Community Festival a big success. A Wine & Cheese Campfire will be held at 6 p.m. on Sept. 28. Bring a lawn chair and your favorite beverage and snacks.
Palmerton library
The Palmerton Library Collaboratory Kick off will be held from 2:30 to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Be a part of the STEAM Team. That stands for Science, Technology, Art and Math. They will have a sample of fun hands-on activities that will be part of the after-school and Saturday STEAM Collaboratory. You can sign up for future sessions. For ages 9 to 13. The collaboratory has been funded by the Carbon County Community Foundation, The Concourse Club of Palmerton and community donations.
Community meal
A free community meal will be held from 4-6 p.m. Sept. 26 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 365 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton. Come enjoy a meal and fellowship.
American Legion
Palmerton American Legion Post 269 will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 24 at the VFW Home, Forest Inn Road, Palmerton. The group is always looking for new members to join them. They meet the fourth Tuesday of each month.
Comedy night
St. John Neumann Regional School is holding a comedy night to benefit the school on Oct. 18.
The event features comedians Eric Tartaglione and Joseph Anthony. Tartaglione is known for his original stage show “My Big Fat Dysfunctional Life” and Sirius/XM comedy channels. Anthony was a finalist on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” and has appeared on ABC’s “The View.”
The doors open at 6 p.m. at the East Penn Community Center, 403 Blue Mountain Road, off Route 895, in Ashfield.
