Lehigh Valley Health Network has announced that it plans to acquire Coordinated Health.
Coordinated Health has clinics locally in Lehighton and Brodheadsville. Lehigh Valley has more than a dozen locations in Carbon County, and has announced plans for a $65 million dollar hospital in Mahoning Township.
In a joint statement issued on Thursday, the two hospital systems said that they have signed a letter of intent outlining plans for Lehigh Valley to acquire the assets of Coordinated Health.
State and federal regulators still need to approve the purchase.
In a statement, Brian Nester, president and CEO of LVHN, said the purchase is a sign of the company’s ongoing commitment to provide world-class orthopedic and specialty care.
“LVHN and Coordinated Health share a common vision focused on population health, one that is rooted in being a partner and advocate in our patients’ health journeys,” he said.
Dr. Emil Dilorio, chairman and CEO of Coordinated Health, said he is confident that Lehigh Valley will continue to expand Coordinated Health’s legacy.
“Coordinated Health and LVHN share a strong passion for delivering high value health care and combining these two organizations is an opportunity to expand our proven integrated health care model,” he said.
