Primitive Methodist
Pastor Rick Clemson will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. worship service this Sunday in American Primitive Methodist Church. There will be no Sunday school. The church picnic will be held in the social room beginning at 11:30 a.m.
A Bible study on the book of Revelation will be continuing at 6 p.m. on Tuesday in the main Sunday school room. Hope in the Mountains meetings are held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays. This is a Nar-Anon Family Group. For more information, call 570-952-5098.
GriefShare Group
A new GriefShare group is forming at Bethany EC Church at 223 E. Broad St. in Tamaqua. GriefShare is a ministry to hurting people who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Meetings will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays for 13 weeks, beginning Oct. 2. GriefShare is biblically based and nondenominational. There is no cost to attend. An optional workbook costs $18. Community Dinner
Trinity United Church of Christ will hold a buffet-style meatloaf dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday. Takeouts are available. Call 570-668-4630 for more information and costs.
Rush-Ryan Seniors
The Rush-Ryan-Delano Senior Citizens met Sept. 10 at the Ryan Township Fire Company with 47 members in attendance. President Robert Neifert opened the meeting with the invocation “Such Love and Joy.”
Paul Randig and Lucille Spaar were added to the sick list. Eleanor Schmerfield was welcomed back by the members. September birthdays were celebrated for the following members: Robert Neifert, Rose Vallee, Ruthann Feane, Dorothy Fegley and Marlene Randig.
Upcoming events include: Sept. 30, Route 61 Diner; Oct. 23, Penn’s Peak, Jim Thorpe; Dec. 10, Christmas party, Capriotti’s, McAdoo.
The group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at 1 p.m. at the Ryan Township Fire Company in Barnesville and is open to anyone 55 or older. The next meeting will be Sept. 24.
Apple Social & Tricky Trays
The Culinary Crew of Zion Lutheran, Tamaqua, is hosting an apple social and tricky trays from 4 p.m. to sell out or 6:30 p.m. today. All are welcome.
In addition to apples served on a waffle with ice cream, apple pies and dumplings will also be available. Kitchen fare includes homemade soups and a wide variety of other culinary delights.
Takeouts are available. Zion Lutheran is located at the corner of Mauch Chunk and Greenwood streets, Tamaqua.
Baby food ministry
Saint Vincent de Paul of Saint John XXIII Baby Food Ministry registration is underway.
Free baby food will be given for babies from birth to 1 year at the Church Hall, 307 Pine St., Tamaqua, on the third Saturday of the month from 9 to 11 a.m. by appointment only.
Registration is required at least three days before distribution online at tamaquasvdp@outlook.com or by phone at 570-225-8620 from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday.
This is open to residents of the Tamaqua Area School District, or members of Saint John XXIII Parish.
