Over $3,000 worth of items, including multiple pieces of jewelry worth $2,000, were stolen in a burglary that was reported at 5:54 p.m. Aug. 1 in the 1700 block of Valley Road, Chestnuthill Township.

The 61-year-old Effort woman told police someone broke the front sliding glass door of her residence and stole the jewelry, multiple articles of clothing ($200), power tools ($500), a Generac 5,000-watt generator ($325), a 44-inch Vizio television and DVDs ($250) from the home.

In addition, multiple windows on the home were broken, police said.
