Jim Thorpe and Tamaqua both picked up shutouts in girls soccer action on Tuesday.
GIRLS SOCCER
Lehighton-Jim Thorpe
Jim Thorpe moved to .500 with a 4-0 Schuylkill League win over Lehighton.
Kelli Hogarty, Nicole Carroll, Lauren LeKites and Heidi Washel all scored for the Olympians (3-3), while Lydia Wallace recorded two assists. Kate Bos earned her third shutout of the season in goal.
Alyssa Meyers made 13 saves for the Indians.
Tamaqua-North Schuylkill
Sophia Boyle’s hat-trick sparked Tamaqua to a 7-0 Schuylkill League win over North Schuylkill.
The Blue Raiders’ Emma Kuczynski added two goals and three assists.
Katie Rudy and Logan Hartney also scored for Tamaqua.

Southern Lehigh defeated Northern Lehigh 4-1 in a Colonial League match.
Kaija Adams, Emily Hewko, Emma Singley and Emily Jordan accounted for the Spartans’ scores, while Bella Touzeau was credited with two assists.
Taylor Reitz recorded the Bulldogs’ lone goal. NL keeper Erica Detweiler grabbed 11 saves.
Wilson-Palmerton
Palmerton cruised to a 7-1 Colonial League victory over Wilson.
Weatherly-Minersville
Minersville erupted for an 11-0 Schuylkill League win over Weatherly.

Saucon Valley escaped with a 1-0 Colonial League win in overtime against Northwestern.
The Panthers’ Zachary Nicholas posted the game’s lone goal. Zachary Appel was credited with the assist.

Wilson cruised to a 11-2 Colonial League victory over Palmerton.

Lauren Schellhamer’s first-half goal was enough to lift Northwestern to a 1-0 Colonial League victory over Southern Lehigh.
Brynn Balliet was credited with the assist for the Tigers.
Northwestern improves to 3-1-1 overall (3-0-1 CL), while handing Southern Lehigh its first loss of the season (4-1, 3-1 CL).
Pleasant Valley-Nazareth
Five first-half goals propelled Nazareth to a 7-0 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference win over Pleasant Valley.
Zoey Emrick led the Blue Eagles with four goals, while Amber Buskirk added two.
Emma Strohl finished with 18 saves for the Bears.

Northwestern’s boys and girls swept a multi-team Colonial League meet. The Tigers posted wins over Bangor, Wilson and Pen Argyl.
Northern Lehigh’s Reagan Pender won the girls’ race.
Angelina Klein (third), Allison Costa (fourth), Maci Fisher (seventh) and Kailyn Jones (eighth) all had top-10 finishes for Northwestern.
Pender’s finish highlighted a 2-1 day for the Bulldogs.
Palmerton’s Natalie Mosier placed sixth.
In the boys’ race, Cole Chukoskie (fourth), Samuel Bower (fifth), Matthew Santana (sixth), RJ Zack (seventh), Joseph Pleban (eighth) and Joseph Chukoskie (10th) all recorded top-10 finishes for the Tigers.
Northern Lehigh’s Jared Thomason finished 13th, while Palmerton’s Mike Noyola was 19th.

Mikayla DeReinzi led the PV girls with a third-place finish, while Lily Mingora placed 10th.

Saucon Valley rebounded after dropping the first set to score a 15-25, 25-13, 25-14, 25-22 Colonial League win over Northwestern.
Catasauqua-Palmerton
Palmerton posted a 25-8, 25-22, 25-11 Colonial League victory over Catasauqua.
Panther Vy.-No. Schuylkill
Panther Valley defeated North Schuylkill, 25-8, 25-12, 25-11 in a Schuylkill League match.
Erika Dubosky finished with 10 kills, eight aces, five blocks and two digs for the Panthers, while Jenna Dubosky added 14 assists, eight kills and three aces. Olivia Dacey (six kills, two digs) and Natalie White (three kills, two blocks) also had strong performances for PV.
