Residents who saw cloudy water from their faucets in Palmerton can blame a broken pump.

The borough received complaints from Colombia Avenue to Delaware — and a few other streets in between — Thursday afternoon of cloudy water, Secretary Kim Rodrigues said.

The cause? A piece on one water pump had worn out, which allowed air to seep into the water, Rodrigues said.

That pump was shut off. A backup pump will be used until it is repaired.

“It should be clearing up in the next few days,” Rodrigues said.
