The Brodheadsville Peebles department store is closing and will reopen in early 2020 as a Gordmans off-price retailer store.

Like Peebles, Gordmans offers a wide array of merchandise, including clothing, home decor, footwear, gifts, accessories and fragrances.

Stage owns both store lines and is converting many Peebles into Gordmans across the country because consumers are responding to the Gordmans’ off-price offerings, Stage spokeswoman Blakeley Graham wrote in an email.

All current Peebles associates will be offered jobs at Gordmans, which will also hire additional associates, Graham wrote. The conversion process should take less than two weeks.

A Peebles in Covington Township in Lackawanna County will also be converted into a Gordmans early next year, Graham wrote.

The Peebles store is located in the West End Plaza shopping area off of Route 209 in Brodheadsville.
