A deer was blamed for a crash involving two vehicles that occurred about 8:24 p.m. on Aug. 14 along Interstate 80 in Pocono Township, Monroe County.
State police at Stroudsburg said Alyson M. Ebel, 18, of Tobyhanna, and Mario D. Hierro, 57, of Shenandoah, were both westbound with Hierro behind Ebel. A deer entered the road which caused Ebel to swerved to the right, when her vehicle leaving the road and rolling over three times before coming to rest. Hierro could not avoid the deer and struck it.
Ebel sustained a minor injury and was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital -Pocono Campus, East Stroudsburg. A passenger with her, Julie A. Ebel, 21, and Hierro, were not injured.
Ebel’s 2007 Ford Focus was towed while Hierro’s 2011 Nissan Rogue had minor damages and was driven from the scene.
