Ukrainian Festival this weekend

The Ukrainian Homestead of CEC, ODWU, 1230 Beaver Run Drive, Lehighton, will host its annual Ukrainian Festival on Saturday and Sunday. Gates open at noon both days with shows on Saturday at 2 and 4:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Enjoy an array of ethnic and American foods, refreshments and desserts. Shop for embroidery, decorated eggs, jewelry, soaps, art and religious items from over 20 vendors.

Featured performers are the folk dance groups, the Kalyna Performing Arts Company from Toronto, Ontario, Canada and local favorites, the Kazka Ukrainian Folk Ensemble.

Musical performers include Innesa Tymochko-Dekajlo on violin and the Rev. Volodymyr Baran on accordion.

Dance to the sounds of Walt Syzonenko and the Chary Orchestra on Saturday, starting at 8 p.m. Sunday’s activities will begin with Divine Liturgy celebrated by Bishop Andriy Raby at 11 a.m. in St. Andrew’s Chapel on the grounds.
