The engagement of Katelin Hummel to Justin Kurtz has been announced by their parents.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Glenn and Sara Hummel of Andreas. She is a 2010 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School and a 2014 graduate of Alvernia University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in forensic science. She is currently a Pennsylvania state trooper in Harrisburg.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Jon and Beth Kurtz of Harrisburg. He is a 2009 graduate of Susquehanna Township High School and a 2013 graduate of Penn State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in finance. He is currently a Pennsylvania state trooper in Harrisburg.

The couple is planning a wedding for Sept. 12, 2020.
