Blue Mountain Fiber Guild
The Blue Mountain Fiber Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Palmerton Area Library. The club explores all things related to fiber arts (spinning, weaving, etc.).
Creation Station
Stop by the Palmerton Area Library on Monday nights, Aug. 5 through Aug. 29, from 6 to 7 p.m. for drop-in activities, including space-themed crafts, coloring sheets, mazes and word finds.
Knitting club
The knitting club will not meet in August or September. The next meeting will be the first Monday in October.
Car, Truck, and Bike Show
The Zinc City Motorcycle Club, 10485 Interchange Road, (Route 209) Kresgeville, will hold its 12th Annual Car, Truck, and Bike Show with Flea Market on Sunday. Registration is from 9 a.m. to noon with the show and flea market until 2 p.m. Food, door prizes, 50/50 and awards. Free spectator admission. No dogs/pets allowed.
Wing night
Wing Night will be held at the Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Company, 259 Lime St. on Aug. 1, 8 and 22. Doors open at 6 p.m. Takeout by calling 610-852-2722.
Park concert
This Sunday’s concert in the Palmerton Borough Park will feature the Pennsylvania Villagers (polka and variety). The concert is held in the park bandstand from 7-8:30 p.m. This concert is sponsored by the Palmerton Concourse Club.
The Bandstand Committee reserves the right to cancel a concert in a case of inclement weather. No smoking or vaping is allowed in the park.
Support group
The Carbon County Chapter of the Compassionate Friends is an ongoing support group for parents, grandparents and adult siblings grieving the loss of a child, grandchild or sibling. The Compassionate Friends will meet on Tuesday and the first Tuesday of each month from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Palmerton Community Ambulance Building, 501 Delaware Ave., Palmerton.
Breakfast
Breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday at the Parryville Volunteer Fire Company No. 2, 359 Main St., Parryville. Platter choices include pancakes, French toast, SOS, eggs, omelets or popular Fire House Mess. Choice of meats are bacon, ham, sausage or scrapple. Meal includes homefries, juice and coffee. Gaming Grotto
Gaming Grotto is open to the public and is hosted by Living Hope Lighthouse Church, 705 N. Third St., Palmerton. The event is held the first and third Friday of each month. In August, the dates are Aug. 2 and 16 from 7 to 11 p.m. This is a free gaming lounge where people can build relationships through the gaming culture. Have gaming systems of all kinds and board games. Refreshments are available for a small fee.
