A Schuylkill County man was jailed on July 25 on domestic assault related charges.
State police at Frackville said troopers responded to a residence along Silver Creek Road in New Philadelphia, Blythe Township, about 6 p.m. for a disturbance. An investigation revealed that during a domestic dispute Theodore Lecher, 34, of New Philadelphia, strangled his 24-year-old girlfriend and assaulted his 28-year-old brother.
Lecher was taken into custody and charged with strangulation, simple assault and harassment. He was arraigned before on-call District Judge David J. Rossi, of Tremont, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville unable to post $25,000 straight cash bail.
