July 26, 1982 — Mark Hurley delivers a walk-off homer in the bottom of the sixth inning as Jim Thorpe defeats Beaver-Banks 4-3 to advance to the finals of the District 18 Little League tournament. Hurley snaps a 3-3 tie by leading off the home sixth with his blast to center. Dave Brown goes the distance on the mound, allowing four walks and three hits while striking out seven. Brown also slugs a two-run homer in the third to force the tie and set up Hutley’s heroics. Thorpe also receives a double off the bat of Mark Rimsky.
