Lehighton State Police report on crashes

State police at Lehighton reported investigating the following crashes.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 12:33 p.m. on July 13 at the intersection of Little Gap and Forest Inn roads in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Bailey G. Flood, 31, of South Lake Tahoe, California, was driving a 2017 Honda Civic westbound on Little Gap Road while Thomas A. White, 48, of Slatington, was northbound on Forest Inn Road driving a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado truck. After stopping at the intersection Flood made a left turn onto Forest Inn Road and into the path of White’s vehicle and a collision occurred.

Flood and his passenger, a 1-year-old boy; and White and his passenger, Karen Glueck, 54, of Slatington, were all not injured.

Troopers cited Flood for the crash.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 6:58 p.m. along Interchange Road (Route 209), in Franklin Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Alexander Zhitelzeyf, 25, of Brooklyn, New York, was driving a 2019 Nissan Versa southbound and lost control of the vehicle on a right-hand curve. The Versa went onto the berm and struck a rock wall, then traveled 30 feet along the shoulder before coming to rest.

Zhitelzeyf had a minor injury but did not require immediate medical attention. The vehicle was towed.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 11:03 a.m. on July 19 at the intersection of Lovitt and Towamensing roads, in Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Richard A. Reed, 37, of Lehighton, was driving a 1994 Ford Ranger truck and attempting a left-hand turn from Towamensing Road onto Lovitt Road when the rear brakes gave out. Reed tried to steer through the turn but proceeded off the road where the truck impacted with a tree. The Ranger sustained heavy front end damage and had to be towed. Reed refused treatment.

He was cited for operating a vehicle without inspection.

• A one-vehicle crash occurred at 1:58 p.m. on July 20 along Little Gap Road in Lower Towamensing Township. Randall J. Dombrosky, 53, of Kresgeville, was driving a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix eastbound and struck the guide rail. Dombrosky was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, by Lehighton ambulance. Damages were heavy to the passenger side of the vehicle, which was towed. Troopers cited Dombrosky for careless driving.
