Bethany EC Church, 222 North St. holds Sunday worship at 10:45 a.m. with the Rev. Timothy Ream, pastor.

St. John’s
St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church of Mahoning, 826 Mahoning Drive West, Lehighton
Dinner & Discussion in kitchen, fellowship hall or pavilion: 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The meal is salad, chili and cornbread. Discussion led by our Pastor Blatt. The Bible will be our reference tool.
Casual Worship: 6:30 p.m. Saturday with Holy Communion in fellowship hall or pavilion.

Worship/Picnic: July 28 will be at Lizard Creek Campgrounds starting at 11 a.m. followed by a covered dish lunch. Our members, Grace, Mark & Allison will be our hosts. They have also made their swimming pool available to us (a liability waiver will need to be signed). Please bring your favorite food for all to enjoy. Beverages, cups, plates and utensils supplied by St. John’s. For those who cannot make the gathering, Pastor Blatt is providing a special service at 10 a.m. at the church called Matins “morning prayer.” Anyone who is attending our worship/picnic, feel free to attend both.
Trinity Happenings
Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., with Holy Communion begins at 9:30 a.m. Gluten-free wafers are available to those with allergy issues. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Richard Bergen assists. The church is air-conditioned.
The sewing group for youth fifth grade and up continues July 23 and 30 in the youth room from 10 a.m. to noon. The project: individual “fidget quilts” will be donated to local senior centers to assist residents in their care.
Volunteers from the church are going to the Mahoning Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 397 Hemlock Drive, at 6:30 p.m. today for “Christmas Continued.” There will be singalong of seasonal tunes, visiting residents and gifts handed out by Santa Claus. Community volunteers are welcome to participate.

The final Sunday for Vicar Rich Bergen is July 28, as his internship at Trinity will conclude. A farewell brunch in his honor will follow the worship service. There will be a basket to receive cards expressing well wishes.
Trinity’s community Vacation Bible School is Aug. 5-9, 6:30-8:30 p.m., with the theme “Who’s Your Neighbor? Learning to Love Like Jesus.” Free registration for children ages 3 through sixth grade. New this year is a Bible study session for adults. Volunteers are needed and welcomed to help. Contact the church office to register.
