State police at the Lehighton barracks said the driver of a vehicle stopped for a Motor Vehicle Code violation at 2:48 a.m. July 11 at Hemlock Street and Cherry Hill Road in Lower Towamensing Township is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
Police said after the 2000 Chevrolet Lumina was stopped, the driver was suspected of being under the influence of a controlled substance, which prompted police to proceed with testing, the results of which are pending.
Police did not name the driver.
