VFW meeting change

VFW Post 5069 will meet at Leiby’s at 11 a.m. on July 20. All members and one guest are welcome.

Summer concert

The next summer concert will be held July 11 from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Tamaqua Train Station. Come listen to the great oldies sound of It Takes Two, sponsored by Cal’s Tire & Auto Service.

The Summer Concert Series is a function of the Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce. Please do not contact the Train Station Restaurant or The Station Creamery.

Bethany EC

Rev. Kevin Roberts will officiate at the 8 and 10:30 a.m. worship services this Sunday in Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church. Sunday school classes meet at 9:15 a.m. VBS setup will start at 11:45 a.m. VBS will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 15-19. Cleanup will happen on Friday starting at 8:30 p.m. Worship practice will be held at 8:30 p.m. on July 17.

Senior Fun Day

West Penn Township Senior Fun Day will be held on Aug. 3 at the West Penn Community Park, rain or shine. This event is free for West Penn Township residents 62 years of age and older. The event will begin at 11:30 a.m., with lunch served at noon.

Free activities and entertainment will be held throughout the afternoon with the event ending at 4:30 p.m., with an evening meal. This annual event is hosted by the West Penn Township Lions and Lioness Clubs. Come out for a day filled with fun, food and fellowship.
