The Carbon Monarchs earned a LV Legion win, while Jim Thorpe was victorious in Connie Mack play.

Tamaqua posted its first win of the season as the Blue Sox edged Valley View, 4-3.

Jimmy Akins had three hits and knocked in two runs for the winners, who used a three-run fifth inning to take the lead.

Tyler Steigerwalt added two hits and two runs, while Luke Van Buskirk contributed a pair of hits and an RBI.

Tate Ligenza gained the pitching win, striking out six, while Michael Bonetsky tossed two scoreless innings to earn the save.

Coplay-Carbon

The pitching of Brad Buzzard helped the Carbon Monarchs defeat Coplay, 4-3.

Buzzard allowed just two hits and two walks while striking out 11. He also helped his own cause with a hit and an RBI.

Jared Joyce added a hit and a run, while Wyatt Zimmerman’s run-scoring sacrifice fly in the fifth proved to be the winning run.

After Northern Valley tied its game with a three-run fifth inning, North Parkland plated two in the sixth to pull out a 5-3 victory.

Eric Nothstein and Luke Eitner each had a hit and a run for the Chargers, while Daulton Lorrah added a hit and an RBI.

Spencer Hunsicker collected two hits, one a triple, and knocked in three runs to help Jim Thorpe gain a 7-4 win over Northern Valley.

Brandon Fasolino, Richie Strack and Drew Wimmer all contributed a hit and a run.

Mike Cadugan-Daugherty pitched four innings of relief to gain the win. He allowed two hits and an unearned run while striking out two.

For the Chargers, Rhys George had two hits while Ben Boyer added a hit, a run and an RBI.
