Local Baseball Roundup: Results from June 29-30
The Carbon Monarchs and Northern Valley Chargers both gained legion wins over the weekend, while Tamaqua’s 8-10 Little League team clinched a berth in the South Division finals.
Palmerton’s Connie Mack team also produced a victory.

Tamaqua-Anthracite
Tamaqua advanced to the South Division finals by rolling to a 14-2 victory over Anthracite on Saturday.
Lucas Franko had two hits, one of them a three-run triple in the second inning, to help lead the offense. Brandon Case knocked in a pair of runs, while Gavan Hess and Brayden Witkowski both scored three runs.
The winners also received a two-run single from Jakin Tamagini, and two runs from Logan Deiter, Connor McCabe and Joey Conahan.
Franko and Hess combined on the pitching duties. Starter Hess struck out two in 1 1/3 innings, while Franko gained the win, allowing just one hit and no earned runs while striking out four in 2 2/3 innings.

Salisbury-Carbon Monarchs
A big game from Brad Buzzard helped the Carbon Monarchs earn a 3-1 victory over Salisbury on Saturday.
Buzzard gained the pitching win, allowing five hits and one run while striking out 11. He also collected two hits at the plate.
Jared Joyce had a hit and an RBI for the winners, and Grant Schaeffer had a double. David Berger relieved Buzzard, who threw 106 pitches, and got the final out with two runners on base to earn the save.

Carbon Monarchs-Lower Mac
Braden Waller hurled Lower Macungie to a 5-2 victory over the Carbon Monarchs on Sunday.
Waller went the distance, scattering eight hits and allowing two runs while striking out 10. Waller also helped his own cause with two hits and an RBI.
The Monarchs, who took a 2-0 lead in the second inning, received two doubles and a run from Michael Bozilesky. Ian Hubbard added a hit and two RBIs with Jared Marykwas chipping in with a hit and a run.

Northern Valley-Allentown
Eric Nothstein had three hits, two of them doubles, scored three runs and knocked in a pair to lead Northern Valley to an 11-3 victory over Allentown on Saturday.
Luke Eitner added to the big win with two hits, a run and two RBIs. The Chargers, who scored four runs in the second and fourth innings, also received two RBIs from Aaron Rudolph and a hit and two runs from Nick Henry.
Ryan King chipped in with two runs, while Colten Hagadus finished with a hit and a run, and Christopher Lucykanish had a hit and an RBI. King was also dominant on the mound, striking out 14 batters while allowing just one earned run.

Birches-Nazareth
Dan Novak struck out nine batters and pitched a complete game to help Nazareth post a 6-4 victory over the Birches on Sunday.
Austin Hahn collected two hits and scored twice for the winners.
For the Birches, Dallas Greenzweig had a double and knocked in two runs. Mychal Kearns added a hit and two runs, while Matt Guzman and Domenico Ferrara both chipped in with a single and run scored.

Wyomissing scored multiple runs in three different innings to cruise to an 11-1 victory over the Tamaqua Blue Sox on Sunday.
B. Taylor had two hits and knocked in three runs to pace the winners.
Tamaqua received a pair of hits from Michael Steigerwalt, while Brian Milot added a hit and a run.
