Tamaqua news for June 19, 2019

Rush-Ryan Seniors

The Rush-Ryan-Delano Senior Citizens met June 11 with 49 members in attendance.

Paul Rarick, Joan Brown and John Fredericks were added to the sick list. Nancy Nunemacher and Barbara Ceffard were welcomed back and new members Carol Krout and Donna Milot were given a warm welcome.

Birthdays celebrated were Bill Morrison, Joan Brown, Fred Herb and Lucille Sparr.

The group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at the Ryan Township Fire Company in Barnesville and is open to anyone 55 or older. The next meeting will be held on June 25.

Primitive Methodist

Pastor Rick Clemson will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. worship service this Sunday in American Primitive Methodist Church. Sunday school classes are held at 9:30 a.m.

Hope in the Mountains meetings are held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays. This is a Nar-Anon Family Group. For more information, call Mark at 570-952-5098.

A Bible study on the book of Revelation will continue from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the main Sunday school room.

Summer concert

The next summer concert will be held at the Tamaqua Train Station from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on June 20 with ’90s rock of Six To Midnight, sponsored by Bowe & Odorizzi Law Offices, as this week’s entertainment.

The Summer Concert Series is a function of the Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce. Please do not contact the Train Station Restaurant or The Station Creamery.

Calvary Lewistown

Sunday morning worship is held at 10:25 a.m. with Terry D. Gerber of Lewistown Valley conducting this week’s service. Sunday school is held at 9:15 a.m. There will be no Sunday evening service or Wednesday prayer meeting so that you are free to attend Auburn Camp services.

CEF (Good News Club) Day camp will be held from June 24 through 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Lewistown Valley Tabernacle, 614 Valley Road, Tamaqua. For more information, call 570-682-9790 or www.cefschuylkill.com.

Zion Lewistown
