Palmerton car show
The Annual Pace-Makers Car show will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Palmerton Borough Park, Saturday.
Golf tournament
The eighth annual “Bowmanstown Ball Mixer” Golf Tournament will be held Saturday at Blue Shamrock Golf Course, Palmerton. Registration is at 7 a.m. and shotgun starts at 8 a.m.
The event benefits the Bowmanstown/Palmerton Baseball/Softball Association.
Class of 1955
Palmerton Area High School Class of 1955 will hold a luncheon meeting at 12:30 p.m. on June 20. The class will meet at the Starlight Diner, Trexlertown.

Free chicken BBQ
The second annual Free Community Chicken Bar-B-Que will be held at Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday. Bring the whole family and your lawn chairs. Enjoy music and fellowship. Music will be by “God’s House Band.”
Menu includes chicken, baked potato, vegetable, drinks and dessert.

Strawberry festival
St. Matthew’s UCC, Kunkletown, will hold its annual Strawberry Festival and Car Show from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Sunday. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy great music and lots of food. Music will be by Lenny & The Loafers.
Breakfast buffet
A Father’s Day Breakfast Buffet will be held from 8 a.m. to noon, Sunday at the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club, 525 Club Road, Palmerton.
Menu items include eggs to order, pancakes, SOS, cereal, potatoes, hash, ham, bacon, sausage, toast, OJ, milk, coffee and tea.
A basket raffle will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with the drawing at 2:15 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the Borger family. Aaron is battling his second round of colon cancer.
Park concert
The Sunday concert in the Palmerton Borough Park Bandstand, will be by Who Knows. The concert, which is held from 7 to 8:30 p.m., is sponsored by the Palmerton Lions Club and the Bandstand Committee. Bring a lawn chair.
The Bandstand Committee reserves the right to cancel a concert in case of inclement weather.
There are no rain dates. No smoking or vaping is allowed in the park.
Fire company picnic
The Parryville Volunteer Fire Company, 359 Main St., will hold its annual picnic on Saturday from 3-10 p.m. A cake walk will begin at 4 p.m.
There will be kids games, a Chinese auction and meat raffle. Bring a lawn chair. Live music will be by Last One Standing from 6-9 p.m.
Palmerton Pool
The Palmerton Memorial Park Pool will begin its summer hours beginning Saturday.
Saturday hours will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday from 1 to 8 p.m., and week days noon to 8 p.m. All times are weather permitting.
On Sunday, the Palmerton Pool will hold its Kickoff to Summer Celebration from 1-5 p.m.
Palmerton swim challenge
The Palmerton Porpoises Swim Team will hold its Swim Challenge on June 20 from noon to 8 p.m. A free poolside concert by the Cramer Brothers Unplugged will be from 5:30- 7 p.m.
News members are welcome to join.
The swim team is open to boys and girls ages 5-18.

Living Hope Lighthouse Church
A Summer Praise Service will be held at Living Hope Lighthouse Church, 705 Third St., Palmerton on June 19 at 7 p.m. Join together for a night of praise songs, scripture reading, and shared testimony.
Bring a friend; all are welcome. Coffee and light refreshments will follow.
Jerusalem UCC
From June 16 to Sept. 8, Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville, will hold one 9 a.m. Sunday blended (contemporary/traditional) Worship service. Service will include nursery and children’s church every week.
On Father’s Day, will be the first “Church in the Grove” service for the summer at 9 a.m. Following the service, a covered dish luncheon will be held. Please bring a main dish or dessert to share. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the food and fellowship.
Palmerton Library
Saturday Story Time will be held at the Palmerton Area Library, from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. on Saturday. This is for ages birth through 5. They will meet in the children’s room. Activities include stories, finger plays, and songs.
The library board of directors will meet at 4 p.m., June 19 at the library. Meetings are open to the public.
