Marian Catholic students receive awards at state competition

Jean Susko, principal at Marian Catholic, has announced that four students received awards during the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science State Competition held at Penn State University Park.

• Thomas Betterly, junior, son of Howie and Stephanie Betterly, Hazleton, Scholarship to Penn State University Eberly College of Science, Karl Orlein PA Academy of Science Plaque with $125 award, five-year Perseverance Plaque and first-place presentation award in behavioral psychology.

• Alison Anilosky, junior, daughter of Jeffery and Sharon Anilosky, Hazleton, PA Science Talent Search Plaque with $125 award, four-year Perseverance Plaque and first-place presentation award in behavioral psychology.

• Meghan Darrough, senior, daughter of David and Collette Darrough, Drums, four-year Perseverance Plaque and first-place presentation award in behavioral psychology.

• Maxwell Schwabe, sophomore, son of Marybeth Hayden, Hazleton, first-place presentation award in biology.
