A Monroe County man is facing multiple charges following the investigation into a large party at a unoccupied residence.
Pocono Mountain Regional police said Christopher Barta, 18, of Brunswicke Drive, Mount Pocono, has been charged as the result of an incident on Dec. 29, 2018. He has been charged with felony counts of criminal trespass, criminal use of a communication facility and criminal solicitation and a misdemeanor count of persistent disorderly conduct.
Police said officers responded to 137 Remington Lane, Pocono Summit on Dec. 29 about 10:34 p.m. to a report of a large party being held at the residence, which is unoccupied and owned by a bank. Police noted the property has been frequently broken into and known to host underage parties.
On scene officers observed dozens of vehicles parked on the roadway and found 70-80 people in the house. Police interviewed several people on scene who named Barta as the party host. A further investigation revealed Barta did coordinate the party and hosted it. A warrant was issued for his arrest and on April 30 he was taken into custody without incident. He was arraigned on the charges and later posted bail and was released.
