Carbon Chamber announces June schedule of events

The Carbon Chamber and Economic Development Corporation has announced its events for June.

• Palmerton Area Chamber of Commerce presents Lehigh Gap Nature Center presentation on June 11 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Lehigh Gap Nature Center in Slatington. LGNC Director Dan Kunkle will present “The History and Restoration of the Lehigh Gap.” A barbecue dinner and an optional hike on the trail will follow. Tickets can be paid in advance or at the event.

• Carbon County Mini Golf Tournament to support the Future Leaders of Carbon County and CCEDC efforts to build strong leaders and legacies in the county will be held on June 12. The first-time event will be from 4:30-7 p.m. at Split Rock Mini Golf Course. Prizes will be awarded after the ceremony. Sponsors are wanted.

• Carbon Chamber Women in Business will host “Cultivating a Successful Business” with winemaker, Sarah Troxell. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Galen Glen Winery. The event will include a luncheon, networking, wine tasting and raffles.

• Load & Lock Self Storage grand opening and ribbon cutting will take place on June 21 from 4:30-6 p.m. in Albrightsville. At the event, there will be a storage unit for people to fill with donations for the Valor Clinic Foundation. If attending, people are encouraged to bring a donation.

• CCEDC along with Pocono Mountain Visitors Bureau, Lansford Alive and Jim Thorpe Tourism Agency presents an Underground & After Hours Mixer at No. 9 Mine in Lansford. The event will take place on June 26 from 5:30-8 p.m. There will be food, music and tours. Appropriate attire is required to tour the mines — light jacket or sweater necessary. Proceeds of the event will be donated to No. 9 Mine.
