The following local students were a part of the Board of Governors Scholar Program and graduated from Bloomsburg University: Jennifer Anani, Ferrell Fludd, both of Effort.

The Board of Governors Scholar Program targets students who excel academically including students of various races, and students majoring in liberal arts science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Recipients are required to participate in a structured program dedicated to the enhancement of retention and graduation rates.
