A McAdoo woman has been charged with assaulting a police officer.
Elizabeth Vega Vega, 38, was charged with aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer, institutional vandalism, obstruction administration of law, riot, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct by McAdoo police stemming from an April 12 incident.
Officers were dispatched to The Strand on West Blaine Street for a disturbance. Police said when they arrived 10 people were out front and two women were arguing.
The owner told the women to leave and they resisted. Police told her she was under arrest but she resisted and police had to force her into the police vehicle.
While this was happening the other female struck the officer in the head numerous times. Police were able to secure the first female in the vehicle and the second woman, identified as Vega, was punching the rear window of the police car.
