Three separate vehicle stops by Pocono Mountain Regional police officers have led to criminal charges being filed against the drivers.

On Monday at 12:47 a.m., police stopped a vehicle along Route 196 at Country Place Drive in Tobyhanna for a faulty headlight. The driver was identified as Roshane Foster, 23, of Tobyhanna. He admitted having a small amount of marijuana. A consent search was conducted of the vehicle and a large amount of marijuana, scale and plastic packaging bags were found.

Foster was taken into custody and charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility, both felonies; possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.

Also on Monday at 12:59 a.m., police made a traffic stop along Route 611 at Fork Street in Mount Pocono for traffic violations. The driver was identified as Syid Boyd, 23, of Newark, New Jersey. A consent search of the vehicle was conducted and a large amount of marijuana, digital scale and other drug paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking were found.

Boyd was taken into custody and charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony; possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.

On Thursday at 2 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop along Kinney Avenue in Mount Pocono for a traffic violation. The driver was identified as Alejandro Carabello-Lopez, 43, of Long Pond. He appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and was given a series of field sobriety tests, which he failed. He was taken into custody and transported to the county DUI center for a blood draw.

Charges pending the test results include driving under the influence and several motor vehicle code violations.
