Several people were seriously injured Thursday afternoon  in a crash along Route 61 near Orwigsburg. The  crash occurred as the driver of a sport utility vehicle traveling  north on South Greenview Road  was at a stop sign and pulled into the path of a southbound car on Route 61. The car struck the SUV broadside at the drivers door. Rescue  squads from Orwigsburg and Schuylkill Haven worked to free the those trapped from the wreckage. All four lanes of  Route 61 were closed. State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating the incident. The injured were flown from the scene.
