Food Co-Op holds 6th annual Earth Day craft fair

The Bethlehem Food Co-Op held its sixth public craft fair and Earth Day festival, its biggest annual fundraiser, at St. Francis Center for Renewal on a sunny and verdant April 27.

Local artisans, food vendors, crafters and organizers welcomed community members for an earth blessing, kids’ yoga, beekeeping, container gardening and gardening for wildlife. A raffle featured items donated by vendors and local businesses.

Lindsey Ronco said she thought it would be a nice way to spend the day with some of her favorite vendors, whom she follows on Facebook.

Board of Directors Chair Jennifer Dize said Co-Op membership is a “one-time member-equity payment (per household)” which also allows access to the Membership Benefits Program, where about 20-25 local businesses offer discounts to members.

“It also gets you a vote. Right now that’s primarily in regard to the board of directors, but will also include decisions about the business as we get closer to opening,” said Dize.

The Co-Op currently has 619 members and is always looking to grow.
