May 11, 1977 — Kris Kunkle collects three hits, two of them home runs, and drives in six runs to help Lehighton post a 13-7 Centennial League win over Palmerton. Kunkle hits both his homers in the third inning as the Indians, coached by Wilson Rehrig, score eight times to turn a 6-4 deficit into a 12-6 lead. Dave Warner earns the pitching win, allowing just three hits, and collects two hits, one a double, at the plate. Gary Dietz and Kevin Moyer contribute key doubles during the bird third inning. For the Bombers, Joe Kavuska belts a pair of home runs.
