Robert Henenlotter of Jim Thorpe has cherished a plaque he received during the 2018 Carbon County Senior Games that honored one of the participants who passed away during the games over a decade ago.
Now, he has a second plaque to cherish.
Henenlotter came in third in the men’s 60 to 64 category in the Philip Steigerwalt Memorial Walk during the 31st annual games Tuesday.
“I’m very happy,” Henenlotter said. “I won this last year, too. I have it (the first plaque) in my house so that I can see it when I come home.”
Tuesday also marked the 12th anniversary that participant Philip Steigerwalt, 63, of Lehighton, who would have won the bronze medal in the men’s 60 to 64 bracket, collapsed as he neared the finish line and passed away after having a heart attack.
