May 2, 1991 — Kelly Trexler has a big day at the plate and Northwestern records the final out at home plate to hold on for a 6-5 Centennial League softball win over Notre Dame. Trexler delivers an RBI triple in the first inning and drills a two-run homer in the second. Stacy Trexler finishes with a pair of doubles, while Sarah Massenheimer scores two runs. The Tigers, coached by Peg Snyder, lead by one run in the seventh when catcher Angie Christman chases down an errant pitch and throws to pitcher Wendy Thompson (eight strikeouts) to nail a Crusader runner for the last out of the game.
