Jim Thorpe’s Austin Williams will be continuing his wrestling at academic careers at Division 3 Delaware Valley University.

Williams was a four-year member of the Olympians’ wrestling team, compiling 72 career victories.

The senior, who also played football, posted a 30-7 record this past season at 182 pounds and was named to the Times News All-Star Wrestling First Team. Williams, who won the Pope John Paul Invite, the Jim Thorpe Christmas Tournament, and the South Williamsport Tournament, reached the district semifinals but wasn’t able to complete the tournament. He placed second at the Schuylkill League tournament, fifth at the Coal Cracker Tournament, and went 5-0 at the Indian Duals in Lehighton.

The son of Lori Williams, Austin plans to major in biology.
