On March 23, Marian Catholic High School participated in Penn State Hazleton’s fifth annual Regional Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Research Fair.

This was an exciting opportunity not only for the students that participated, but also for Marian because this was the first year that the school was able to join in on the innovation, technology and research now that Marian has centers that support STEM learning.

Marian High School recently built four state-of-the-art classrooms that are equipped for students to have the best experience possible while engaging in quality education.

The two students who participated were Robert Kuznicki, Lehighton, and Gavin Grega, Hazleton. These students designed and built a “Styro Slicer” machine, which can cut through Styrofoam, cardboard and thin wooden materials.

Kuznicki and Grega both contributed to the final product of their machine.

While Kuznicki researched and designed the model, Grega provided the skills necessary to construct and finalize the product for its performance.
