The Northwestern baseball and softball teams picked up wins over Hamburg on Friday.
BASEBALL
Hamburg-Northwestern
Northwestern started strong in a 7-2 non-league win over Hamburg.
Rafe Perich was 2-for-4 with two home runs - including a two-run shot in a four-run first inning - three RBIs and two runs scored for the Tigers (11-2). Connor Snyder blasted a homer and drove in two runs, and Derek Holmes, Brandon Mengel and Carter Welch each added a double.

SOFTBALL
Hamburg-Northwestern
Kylie Zentz’s walk-off walk helped Northwestern secure a 6-5 non-league win over Hamburg.
Molly Mitman (2-for-4) and Emily Akelaitis (4-for-4, double, two RBIs) hit solo home runs in the sixth and seventh innings, respectively, to help the Tigers (11-2) claw back from an early deficit and secure their eighth straight win. Olivia Stofflett added two hits, a walk and an RBI.
Akelaitis struck out 11 in seven innings, and is now one hit away from the 100th of her career.
Halle Gerner smoked a two-run homer for the Hawks, who led 5-0 after three innings.
