BWC Lehighton, a campus of Bethany Wesleyan Church, celebrated its one-year anniversary on March 31 with a special service and luncheon at the Lehighton Area Middle School Auditorium. More than 230 people attended the event celebrating the church’s first year of ministry.

Highlights since the campus launched on April 1, 2018, include the opening of office and meeting spaces at the Body & Soul Complex at 700 Bridge St., two community worship services at the Lehighton Bandshell in July and December, a school supply drive that donated totes and gift cards to every homeroom in the Lehighton Area Middle School, and free thanksgiving meals to 20 local families.

“We are encouraged about the opportunities God has provided us to partner with the Lehighton community and excited to see what year two will bring,” campus pastor Casey Spencer said.

Upcoming events include a community dodgeball tournament at the Lehighton Recreation Center for students in grade 6-12 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on April 27 and a Vacation Bible School from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 7-9 in the Lehighton Upper Park. BWC Lehighton holds a public worship service every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at the Lehighton Area Middle School.
