Pleasant Valley picked up dominating victories in boys tennis and girls lacrosse action on Saturday.

BASEBALL

Salisbury-Lehighton

Lehighton’s bats came alive in its 9-1 non-league win over Salisbury.

Mike Bozilesky led the Tribe with three hits, including a double, a run scored and an RBI. Logan Wentz had two hits and scored twice, while Zach Crum added a hit, drove in two runs and scored one.

Tamaqua-Northwestern

Northwestern pounded out 12 hits to topple Tamaqua in non-league action, 12-6.

The Tigers received strong outings from Rafe Perich (2-for-3, three-run homer, 4 RBIs), Derek Holmes (2-for-2, solo HR, three RBIs), and Nick Henry (1-for-4, two-run HR).

For the Blue Raiders, Nick Breiner finished with two hits, including a double, and scored two runs, while Tate Ligenza was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Jim Thorpe-Panther Valley

Panther Valley jumped out to an early lead and held on for an 8-6 non-league win over Jim Thorpe.

The Panthers built a 7-0 lead behind Leah Malaska, who pounded out a triple and a two-run homer. Brenna Beshock also had a nice day for the winners, garnering three hits.

For Jim Thorpe, Nadya Soliman and Skyler Searfoss each had two hits.

Palmerton-Tamaqua

Palmerton grabbed the early lead and rode the strong arm of Lexi Merkel to a 2-1 non-league win over Tamaqua.

Merkel struck out 11 batters and walked none en route to the four-hitter.

The Bombers’ Paige Shupp proved to be a tough out on the day as she finished 3-for-4 with a triple, an RBI and a run scored. Emily Baumgardt added two hits and also scored a run for Palmerton.

For Tamaqua, Jada Schellhammer ripped a seventh-inning double and scored on Maxine Beers’ sacrifice fly to make it interesting, but Shupp was able to escape further damage.

Dieruff-Marian

Dieruff scored the game winning run in the top of the seventh to edge Marian, 5-4, in non-league action.

Jessica Giandemico had three hits to lead Dieruff

For the Fillies, Emily Shaud and Mia Nemeth both had two hits and three stolen bases. Shaud scored one run while Nemeth scored twice.

Pleasant Valley-Crestwood

Pleasant Valley’s offensive attack was the story in this non-league outing as the Bears rolled to a 19-3 victory over Crestwood.

Leading the Bears was Jules Lopez with six goals and four assists. Alexandra Bush had three goals and three assists, while Brielle McInaw scored four goals and Hayle Stintsman had three.

Danni Reino had 10 saves for the Bears in goal.

Northwestern-Liberty

Liberty defeated Northwestern in a non-league game, 9-4.

Brooke Veit scored four goals for Liberty.

Bailey Schultz had a pair of goals for Northwestern, while Reagan Hernandez and Kate Edgar each scored once.

Both goalies, Liberty’s Rachel Johnson and Northwestern’s Maxine Hoffman, made four saves.
