A tractor-trailer rig crashed in Monroe County on Saturday on a snow-covered roadway.

State police at Stroudsburg said Louis A. Sanchez, 58, of Pocono Summit, was operating a 2013 Freightliner tractor with trailer westbound on Interstate 80 around 12:30 a.m. when he changed lanes to merge onto Interstate 380 northbound. Sanchez was going too fast for the snow-covered road and lost control of the rig which spun out striking the guide rail on the right side of the road.

Sanchez was not injured but the tractor sustained disabling damages and had to be towed. Troopers cited Sanchez for driving a vehicle at a unsafe speed.
