Colts’ Boyer to attend Catholic University

Zachary Boyer of Marian will continue his academic and football career at The Catholic University of America in Washington D.C.

The three-year varisty player for the Colts played fullback/running back, nose guard and linebacker for head coach Pat Morgans.

This past season, Boyer recorded 104 tackles, including 81 solo and four sacks, averaging 11 stops per game. He also scored three touchdowns.

Boyer was Marian’s Scholar-Athlete and earned numerous other awards. He was selected to many all-star teams, including the Times News at linebacker and was the Skook Sports Schuylkill County Defensive Player of the Year.

The senior is a member of National Honor Society (vice president), Eucharistic Minister, Spanish National Honor Society, Green Club, FBLA, Altar Server & Lector, Mock Trial, Senior Play, and Tutoring.

The son of Lori and Bill Boyer, Zachary plans on pursuing a dual major of criminology and chemistry.
