HERSHEY - The PIAA Championships came to a close for two area wrestlers on Friday.

Jim Thorpe’s Ethan Mordaunt suffered a 6-4 loss in sudden victory overtime to Wilson’s Kolby Flank in a 220-pound third round consolation match. The loss ended the tournament for Mordaunt, who was pinned in 30 seconds by Southern Columbia’s Preston Zachman in the quarterfinals earlier in the day.

Tamaqua’s Bronson Strouse also lost in sudden victory overtime, falling 3-1 to Damon James of Boiling Springs in a 285-pound second round consolation match.
