Sts Peter & Paul Church in Lehighton has the questions.
And it’s looking to high school students to provide the answers when its hosts Teen Trivia Night on Saturday.
The event will be held in its parish hall, and is open to those age 14-19, according to event co-chair Jordan Cook.
“I’m also a member of the parish council, and we were kind of looking for things to bring the young people in,” Cook said. “And get the community and young people in the community and bring them into the church and get them there and doing things,” Cook said.
Cook said the game will almost be like Jeopardy, in that there will be 10 categories, with math, science, and pop culture among them.
He said there will be 10 questions in each of the 10 categories, at which time participants will be asked to write their answers down on a sheet of paper.
Once those 10 questions are answered, the participants will then take their papers to a scoring judge and then the next category will start, Cook said.
Individual players or teams may participate, he said.
Cook said that fellow event co-chair Natalie Huebler came up with the idea at a parish council meeting.
“And I absolutely loved it,” he said. “As a young person, I thought it was a great idea because there’s not a lot of social activities for teens to do, and I thought it could benefit the teens of Lehighton and the surrounding areas.”
Registration is at 6 p.m. The game begins at 6:30 p.m.
There is a $1 entrance fee per person. First prize is $50.
The kitchen will be open for food and beverages.
