March 6, 2009 — Amy Zehner tallies a game-high 21 points to lead Tamaqua to a 50-46 victory over Loyalsock in the first round of the Class 2A state playoffs. Zehner scores six of her points in the second quarter during a 20-6 run that gives the Blue Raiders a double-digit advantage. Elissa Streisel hits for five of her 13 points during that stretch. The winners, coached by Joe Berezwick, also receive nine points from Kayla Hope, while Kristen Kistler pulls down 10 rebounds and chips in with seven points.
