A Lehigh County resident is facing charges in Jim Thorpe.
Borough police said at 10:48 p.m. on Feb. 7 officers were dispatched to a resident in the 300 block of West Broadway for a man attempting to force entry into the residence. Officers were given a description of the man, who was later located in the 200 block of West Broadway.
The man gave a false name to police. He was then taken to the Hazleton city police where he was positively identified using a Live Scan of his fingerprints as Joshua Louis Perez, 25, of Allentown. It was also learned that there was an active warrant for his arrest issued out of Lehigh County.
Perez was placed in the county prison in Nesquehoning on the Lehigh warrant. Borough police said charges will be filed against Perez concerning for attempted burglary.
