New shows added to the Penn’s Peak lineup
Penn’s Peak has added three new shows to its 2019 lineup.
First up, it’s Get The Led Out, returning to the Peak at 8 p.m. May 10.
From the bombastic and epic, to the folky and mystical, Get The Led Out have captured the essence of the recorded music of Led Zeppelin and brought it to the concert stage. The Philadelphia-based group consists of six veteran musicians intent on delivering Led Zeppelin live, like you’ve never heard before. Utilizing the multi-instrumentalists at their disposal, GTLO re-create the songs in all their depth and glory with the studio overdubs that Zeppelin themselves never performed. When you hear three guitars on the album…GTLO delivers three guitarists on stage. No wigs or fake English accents, GTLO brings what the audience wants…a high energy Zeppelin concert with an honest, heart-thumping intensity.
Next up is the Transform Tour – featuring Howard Jones at 7:30 p.m. June 9.
In support of his first new studio album in nearly a decade, Transform, new wave icon/synth pioneer Howard Jones will headline a massive North American summer tour kicking off in June. Also featured on the tour will be Men Without Hats and All Hail The Silence (featuring BT). Of the upcoming tour, Howard Jones said, “I’m super excited to be touring this summer in the US and Canada. I’ll be playing cuts from my new album, “Transform,” as well as my fans favorites. BT has collaborated on three tracks on the new album and his band All Hail The Silence will be our special guests alongside my buddies Men Without Hats. I’m sure there will be some amazing interaction between the bands! Can’t wait for this tour!”
“Transform” is due out May 10.
Last, but certainly not least, 38 Special is back, at 8 p.m. Aug. 16.
After more than three decades together, 38 Special continue to bring their signature blast of Southern Rock to over 100 cities a year. And at each and every show, thousands of audience members are amazed by the explosive power of the band’s performance.
Their many Gold and Platinum album awards stand in testament to the endurance of a legendary powerhouse.
With sales in excess of 20 million, most associate the band with their arena-rock pop smashes, “Hold On Loosely,” “Rockin’ Into the Night,” “Caught Up in You,” “Fantasy Girl,” “If I’d Been the One,” “Back Where You Belong,” “Chain Lightnin’,” “Second Chance,” and more, timeless hits that remain a staple at radio, immediately recognizable from the first opening chord, and paving the way to their present-day touring regimen.
Guitarist/vocalist Don Barnes says it’s all about maintaining that intensity in their live shows.
“We never wanted to be one of those bands that had maybe gotten a little soft or complacent over the years. We’re a team, and it’s always been kind of an unspoken rule that we don’t slack up, we stack up. We go out there every night to win.”
It is that steely determination that lives on in the hearts of these “Wild-Eyed Southern Boys.”
Tickets for all three concerts go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at all Ticketmaster outlets, the Penn’s Peak Box Office and Roadies Restaurant and Bar. Penn’s Peak Box Office and Roadies Restaurant ticket sales are walk-up only, no phone orders.
