A Tamaqua woman was taken to the Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville on Jan. 28, charged in connection with a dispute involving a machete.
Tamaqua Police responded to a home in the 200 block of Schuylkill Avenue at 6:50 p.m. for a domestic dispute. They arrived to find Jennifer Hosier, 41, standing on the porch. She was yelling and screaming while waving around a machete.
She dropped the weapon in response to an officer’s order. The entire event was being recorded by the victim, who said she had threatened to kill him. She did strike him with the machete, hitting his upper left arm.
Hosier was arraigned before duty District Magisterial Judge James Kilker on charges of aggravated assault, assault with a deadly weapon, terroristic threats, simple assault and reckless endangerment. Bail was set at $50,000 straight, which she was unable to post.
