Joshua A. Ariza, 21, of Whitehall, escaped injuries in a crash at 9:59 p.m. Jan. 24 on Route 309 in Lynn Township. State police at the Fogelsville barracks said it happened after a vehicle forced his 2007 Nissan Altima off the roadway just east of Gun Club Road.

Police said Ariza was westbound and traveling up a hill when an eastbound vehicle traveling down the hill entered Ariza’s lane of travel.

Police said he attempted to maneuver the Altima onto the right shoulder of the road, but due to icy conditions, the car exited the roadway and collided with an embankment. The car needed to be towed from the scene.

Police said the driver of the eastbound vehicle failed to stop and fled on Route 309.
